PLANETAREN ORDUA

Orain dela bi aste DBHko 4.mailako ikasleek, Fridays For Future protestaldian parte hartu zuten Galdakaoko Udaletxearen aurrean. WWF gobernuz kanpoko erakundeak, urtero bezala,  martxoaren 30-ean, 20:30 eta 21:30 bitartean, argi guztiak amatatzeko proposamena zabaldu du du. Era berean, egun horretan okelik ez jateko , plastikorik ez erabiltzeko eta CO2 isurketarik ez sortzeko gomendatu du.

Eta nola ez, gure ikastola Eskola Jasangarria denez gero, bat dator ekimen honekin. Iazko EA21eko gaia Klima Aldaketa izan zen eta neurri zuzentzaile modura, astean behin Okelik Gabeko Eguna ezarri dugu. Aurten, ordea, Stop Plastikoak da gure gaia eta hainbat ekintza egin ditugu plastiko-zaborra jaso eta murrizteko ikastola inguruetan. Murrizketa dela eta, aurten 50/50 energia murrizteko proiektuan murgilduta gaude eta emaitza onak espero ditugu. Zoritxarrez, nahiz eta ikastolan energia murrizten ari garen, garraioari dagokionez oraindik lana egiteke daukagu. Iaz ikasle talde batek ibilgailuz zenbat ikasle eta langile zetozen  neurtu zuen eta ondorioztatu da kotxea nagusi dela.

Dena den, salbuespen batzuk egon badaude: oraindik ikasle asko oinez edo autobusez datoz; irakasleen artean Jabi G. zoriondu behar dugu oinez baitator beti. Langile batzuk ere beti oinez datoz, tartean gure Garbiñe. Azkenik, guraso bat aipatu behar dugu. Manolo du izena. Egunero bizikletaz dator, bere hiru urteko semearen bila eta biak elkarrekin ikastolatik jaisten dira bizikletaz! Aupa zuek! Zuek bai eredu!

HOUR FOR THE PLANET

A couple of weeks ago pupils from DBH4 took part in the FridaysForFuture protest in front of Galdakao Town-Hall. On March 30th, the ONG, WWF, has asked people to take part in its Hour For The Planet by turning off their lights  from 20:30 to 21:30. As well as that, this organisation recommends not using plastic, not eating any meat or causing any CO2 emissions that day.

And of course our ikastola, being a Sustainable School, has decided to take part in this initiative. Last year Climate Change was the Agenda 21 theme and consequently one of our decisions was to have a Meat-Free Day every month. This year the theme is Stop Plastic and we have been doing many things to clear the area around the school of plastic. As for the reduction of our CO2 emissions, this year we have been taking part in the 50/50 campaign to reduce energy consumption and we expect to have good results. However, regarding transport we cannot say the same thing. Last year a group of pupils carried out a survey on how we come to the school and it`s very clear that the car is the main form of transport.

However, there are some noble exceptions and there are still many pupils who walk to school or come by bus. As for the teachers, special mention must be given to Jabi Gereta who always walks to school and some of the non-teaching staff also deserve a mention, one of them being Garbiñe who also walks to the school. Last, but not least, we must give a special mention to one of our parents, Manolo, who comes to school every day by bicycle to pick up his 3 year-old son. Both of them then go home by bicycle. Well done to both of you. You`re a credit to the school!
